Teamwork and motivation is important in any company, especially in the world of car sales. They are usually a fairly small team, around five people, so it is important that they interact and cover for each other as well as competing with each other!
You usually find a sales team manager, who has the car salesmen or women under him. In such a small environment he has to keep a tight ship and he or she needs to be a motivational sales speaker to make sure that all of his team are right behind him.
Morale is crucial as, if one person is out of sorts or in a bad mood, it can easily spread to the others. The team needs to help each other and motivate each other to do their job well. This is often easier said than done!And yet, although they must work as a team, they are also fiercely competitive. Their bonus depends on their sales and they will try to out-do each other at all times. They have to work with their colleagues and yet alone to bring in the best salary.
It is difficult to find a balance between encouraging them to work as a team and yet motivating them to try and out-sell each other and that it what any skilled manager of a car sales team must do.
