Buying a New or Used Car?

There seems to be more choice than ever when it comes to buying cars these days and the developments in technology have made them look and perform a lot differently to those of just a few years ago.

Whilst many new cars now come with things like GPS, reverse camera and more as standard, we cannot always afford a new car. Fortunately, the second hand car market is also thriving.

When buying a new car, for instance, a percentage of the value is lost as soon as you drive it away from the showroom. However, if you were to buy a Used Citroen, as an example, the value of the second hand car would remain the same. This means that if you needed to sell it due to unforeseen circumstances, you would not lose as much.

In fact, buying a used car is far better value for money than buying a new car. Obviously, you do not get that 'new car' smell and feel, but is that worth a thousand pounds or more? Because that is the amount that is lost whenever you drive a new car away from the showroom.

Buying a two or three year old used car presents the best value, and if you buy it from a dealer, then it will also be covered by warranties and agreements. Shopping around for the best deal can be just as important as getting the best price.
