MEMBERSHIP BENEFITS

Subject to the prior and full agreement of all existing relevant and interested legal parties.

Depending on interest levels shown the following Membership benefits are proposed:

1. In the much to be hoped for event that a new Cornish series of all 12 Poldark books can eventually be produced (hopefully by Robin Ellis and Angharad Rees?) one of the fundamental articles of the "New Poldark Series Trust Fund" will be that all fully paid-up members in order of joining would be given the opportunity to take part in filming episodes, possibly as extras etc. However please realise that it will never be possible for the Society to give any guarantees as to the final outcome, therefore no such assurances will ever be given throughout the active life of the Fund.

2. All fully paid-up members considering or interested in eventually giving donations or legacies to the "New Poldark Series Trust Fund" would be given the early opportunity to discuss with the Fund's Trustees their own specific interests and requirements. If acceptable these would then be relayed to all of the relevant and interested legal parties mentioned above for their decisions first. However please realise that it will never be possible for the Society to give any guarantees as to the final outcome, therefore no such assurances will ever be given throughout the active life of the Fund. Finally in the unfortunate occurrence that a new series is not produced all monies will immediately be returned plus accrued bank interest to the original donor(s).

3. In the event that an annual "Winston Graham & Poldark Literary Festival" can eventually be organised in the North Cornwall area, all fully paid-up members will be entitled to free entry to the Festival site throughout the relevant period.

4. Various Society organised year round social and themed events at linked historical sites and BBC filmed locations throughout Cornwall. For example monthly Poldark costume Balls, banquets with menus and dishes from the period, summer Soireés, Son et Lumières etc. Early bookings essential.

5. Poldark Cornish Cuisine weekends. Try making some of the early Cornish recipes from Jean Graham's Cookery Book! Early group bookings only.

Cornish sea6. North Cornwall Walks. Join us in exploring the 'real' part of Winston's 'partly real, partly dream' countryside of the Poldarks - the rocky inlets and coves........ Early bookings essential.

7. "Old Cornwall" local cultural recitals and productions. For example Poldark period music and dance to be remembered in some of the Society's year round social gatherings, including stage and drama performances of selected excerpts from Winston Graham's Poldark novels. Early bookings essential.

8. Cornish local stage and drama performances of selected excerpts from Winston Graham's non-Poldark novels. Literary readings of Winston Graham's other books. Early bookings essential.

9. Group or individual coach tours to see all of the original Poldark BBC TV Cornish locations. Group or individual coach tours of Winston Graham's Cornwall taken from his books.

10. Quarterly newsletter "The Poldarkian" sent by e-mail unless otherwise stated.

11. Private viewing pre-booked group sessions by arrangement with the Perranzabuloe Folk Museum in Perranporth, North Cornwall of rare and interesting Winston Graham and Poldark memorabilia.

12. Reduced entry charges to events arranged through the Society's website Research Pages and Forums such as University organised lectures and debates. Additionally to events organised by other Cornish organisations and groups recognised or affiliated to the Society.

If you have any further thoughts, ideas or comments you'd like to add to the above please post them into the second Forum from the top - "The Society". They're always welcome!

Notes

  • In view of the likely popularity of organised walks, it would be very helpful if you could let the Society know well in advance if and when you are coming, so that additional leaders can be arranged if necessary.
  • Please note that all representatives and leaders at Society organised events will wear official numbered badges.

Disclaimer: Neither The Winston Graham & Poldark Literary Society nor the leader or organiser of any walk or other event shall be held liable for the death or injury, accident or damage to the person or property of any member of the Society or any guest or any other person occurring during or arising from participation in any of the events advertised.
